Chapter 64: Forced into Love by My Sworn Enemy (13)

“Who are you?”

The moment Gu Chengyun was dragged into the car, they bound him tightly. A cold gleam flickered in his narrow eyes behind his glasses.

He had always been calm and self-possessed, unshaken by danger. It was the professional discipline of a former military doctor.

Had his hand not been injured during a peacekeeping deployment, leaving him unable to perform highly delicate surgery, he would not now be reduced to working as a private physician for the wealthy.

“Oh? You’re pretty calm! Seen your share of trouble, have you? Tell me! What did that Qin bastard do to my friend?”

After calling Lin Zhen, Yu Wenle had followed the Qin family’s car to the vicinity of the villa.

The gates were locked, and he had been worrying about how to get inside. Then, conveniently, someone had come out.

“Your friend?”

Gu Chengyun realized he probably meant the young man he had just treated.

Judging by Qin Fan’s attitude, he cared deeply about him. Had his abductor misunderstood something?

“That is confidential patient information. I’m not authorized to disclose it.”

Professional ethics prevented him from revealing his employer’s information to an outsider.

Pampered since childhood, Yu Wenle had encountered plenty of private doctors.

But never one with such a cool, reserved bearing. His gaze held a quiet depth, and even tied up in a car, he showed no trace of panic.

Damn it! His best friend was still in danger. Why was he sitting here admiring someone?

“You won’t talk? Professional ethics, is it? Aren’t you afraid of what I might do?”

Yu Wenle opened the medical bag. Alongside some standard medicines, it contained syringes and IV tubing.

The bag was small, but everything inside was meticulously organized.

“I’ve never given anyone an injection. Want to try it?”

Gu Chengyun could not help rolling his eyes. The man before him probably had the mental age of a child.

Even his threats were childish.

Perhaps he should simply tell him. It was hardly a major secret, and it might prevent further misunderstanding.

“He’s fine. I only treated the bruises on his face.”

“Really? You aren’t lying? That Qin bastard didn’t hurt him?”

Hurt him?

As if the second Qin son could bear to…

He had called Gu Chengyun out in the middle of the night merely to treat some bruising. Any later, and the injuries might practically have healed themselves.

Gu Chengyun had never seen Qin Fan so concerned about anyone.

“In that case, please sit here a little longer. Once I know my friend is safe, I’ll let you go.”

Meanwhile, feeling the cool ointment on his face and still affected by alcohol, Lin Huaiqing vomited all over Qin Fan.

He wondered whether Qin Feng had given him a concussion. Why else was he so dizzy?

Qin Fan was rather fastidious. Had anyone else vomited on him, he would have exploded.

But this was Lin Huaiqing, his swollen cheek making him resemble a bee-stung puppy. Qin Fan could not bring himself to feel disgusted.

He merely changed out of his clothes. Bare-chested, he addressed Lin Huaiqing, who had commandeered his bed and was sprawled across it.

“Don’t wander off. I’m going to shower.”

“Mm…”

Lin Huaiqing’s answer sounded obedient enough. But the moment Qin Fan entered the bathroom and the water began running, he sprang out of bed.

Taking his phone, wallet, and jacket, he slipped out.

He had barely gone a few hundred meters when he encountered Yu Wenle crouching by an intersection, making a phone call.

At the sight of Lin Huaiqing’s hugely swollen cheek, Yu Wenle’s first reaction was not concern, but laughter.

“Hahahaha! How did you swell up like that? You look awful…”

He was not gloating over his friend’s misfortune. He had seen plenty of fights. A punch to the face usually meant a bruise lasting half a month, but swelling like this was rare.

“Let’s go. We’ll talk in the car.”

Back in the car, Lin Huaiqing found the doctor who had just treated him and felt briefly confused.

One look at his friend’s expression explained everything.

“Why did you tie him up? Untie him!”

“I was worried something had happened to you! Quick, untie the doctor.”

Gu Chengyun had no interest in their tangled affairs. He simply wanted to go home and sleep. After stretching his limbs, he prepared to get out.

Feeling guilty, Lin Huaiqing offered, “Dr. Gu, where do you live? We’ll drive you home.”

Gu Chengyun considered it.

“All right…”

Otherwise, he would not be able to find a taxi anyway.

“Are you the Qin family’s private doctor?” Yu Wenle asked curiously.

Gu Chengyun ignored him and turned toward the window.

Unwilling to accept being disregarded, Yu Wenle tried another topic.

“Hey, Doctor. Why is his face so swollen? Wasn’t it only one punch?”

This time, Gu Chengyun responded. He glanced at Lin Huaiqing and said coldly, “It was a heavy blow, and his facial skin is thin and delicate, so it looks serious. In fact, it isn’t minor either. Whoever hit him was vicious…”

“It’s all that Qin bastard’s fault! He did this to you over chatting up a waitress? Was that really necessary?”

Yu Wenle indignantly defended his friend.

Lin Huaiqing patted his shoulder.

“Forget it. I was in the wrong first. I’ll let it go this time. Next time…”

Next time, if he was not in the wrong, he would make Qin Feng pay!

His hatred for Qin Feng had reached its peak. Even without a mission, he would take the initiative to cause him trouble.

As for the other Qin, he remained neutral.

Qin Fan had certainly offended him plenty in the past, especially by stealing his girlfriend—an unforgivable grudge! And he would never forget the matter of hiring a man to disgust him.

Yet since returning to the country, Qin Fan had repeatedly rescued him from his brother. It almost seemed as though he was trying to win him over.

What was he playing at?

A slap followed by a sweet?

These brothers were strange.

After dropping Gu Chengyun home, Yu Wenle quietly memorized his address.

He did not know why, but he had developed an unusual interest in him.

He had never liked men before, yet this man happened to fit his tastes perfectly. Broad shoulders and a narrow waist were one thing; he also possessed an aloofness that seemed to come from deep within, keeping strangers at a distance.

Very much his type!

Back home, Lin Huaiqing did not dare wash his face. He quickly showered and went to bed, then failed to get up for work the next morning.

If Xue Cheng’an saw him like this, who knew what stories he would tell his father and Uncle Wang?

He wasn’t going!

So he skipped work with a clear conscience and decided to order delivery and enjoy a good meal at home.

He might be a wealthy heir now, but he still could not shake his bad habits. Some junk food would soothe his injured body and soul.

Forty-five minutes later…

An extravagantly loaded bowl of malatang, packed with meat, seafood, and poultry and ordered extra numbing and extra spicy, arrived in his hands.

Just as he was about to tuck in, the doorbell rang.

Had the delivery rider stayed to ask for a good review?

But when he opened the door, Qin Fan stood outside in casual clothes, carrying a large assortment of things.

“Why are you here?” Lin Huaiqing asked in confusion.

He did not remember giving Qin Fan the address of this villa.

How had he found him?
