Chapter 18: Brother, Carry Me

“Young Master Ji, we didn’t…”

The private room, so noisy a moment ago, went dead silent the second Ji Xinghui finished speaking. Looking at the furious Ji Xinghui, someone swallowed hard and shakily tried to explain.

Hand on heart, they really hadn’t dared to give the little young master anything to drink. But everyone was doing their own thing, and when the little young master grabbed a drink off the table himself, nobody noticed!

They were the ones whose glasses got knocked over, the one whose wrist got bent back by the little young master, and in the end, they were still the ones getting beaten up.

If they’d known the little young master was this precious and this hard to handle, they would have dropped everything and watched him like hawks. They’d never have been so careless.

Pretty faces can be deceiving. Every spoiled rich kid in that room learned that lesson the hard way.

But even scarier than facing Ji Xinghui’s anger was hearing him say Fu Baihan was on his way.

Fu Baihan? That was a whole other level. None of them were in the heir circle. Forget them, even their own fathers had to bow politely when they saw Fu Baihan. With that kind of family background and ability, you had no choice but to respect him.

Was Fu Baihan going to kill them all when he got here? From the vibe he gave off, he really looked like the kind of boss who’d kill without blinking.

Surely… it wouldn’t come to that?

A bunch of rich kids who usually feared nothing were now trembling like little quails, huddling together for comfort, and even thinking about calling the police for protection.

“Shut up.” Ji Xinghui was fuming. He didn’t want to hear their excuses, and he couldn’t stand the sight of them. Now you’re scared? I’m the one who should be scared. You’ve really screwed me over.

When Su Nuo wasn’t drinking, he was a sweet little angel. When he was drunk, he was a little menace, and impossible to deal with.

How did Ji Xinghui know? Because the last time Fu Baihan threw hands with him was when he’d gotten Su Nuo drunk. When the kid acted up, his brother never got mad at him. He just dealt with whatever outsiders had made him uncomfortable.

Back then, Ji Xinghui took the beating and accepted it, feeling guilty. After all, he’d taken a minor out drinking. He was in the wrong. Su Nuo was an adult now, but in Fu Baihan’s eyes, his little brother would probably always be a kid who hadn’t grown up. His precious little treasure.

“Leave this one with me. Everyone else, get out.” Ji Xinghui pointed at the guy he’d kicked aside and said impatiently.

Everyone there today was one of Ji Xinghui’s hangers-on, so no one dared complain about his attitude. When they heard that, they felt like they’d been pardoned and fled as fast as they could.

Compared to facing the Fu family’s head, getting yelled at by Young Master Ji was nothing.

After getting rid of them, Ji Xinghui turned to coax the Fu family’s little treasure. “Nuonuo, how about I take you home?”

Su Nuo was a little slow to react. He looked at him, thought about it for a while, then shook his head. “No, I want my brother!”

Ji Xinghui put a hand to his forehead and silently cursed Fu Baihan. How on earth did he raise this kid? Even the three-year-old in Ji Xinghui’s family wasn’t this whiny and clingy!

And he only clung to Fu Baihan!

Ji Xinghui summoned more patience than he’d ever used on any girlfriend. “Aren’t I your big brother too? Star-ge will take you home. Let’s not bother Baihan, okay?”

The very next second, Ji Xinghui watched as Su Nuo burst into tears out of nowhere, hiccuping sadly. “Does my brother not want me anymore either…”

Okay, okay, lesson learned. You can’t steal other people’s kids.

Ji Xinghui surrendered. “Your Highness, please don’t cry. I’ll call Fu Baihan right now.”

He took out his phone and dialed. Fu Baihan’s voice came through. “Talk.”

Before Ji Xinghui could say a word, Su Nuo leaned in. “Waaah… Brother, you don’t want me anymore, do you?”

Ji Xinghui: “…” Death was calling his name.

Fu Baihan’s voice dropped. “Ji Xinghui, where are you?”

Ji Xinghui felt guilty. “I’ll send you the address. Nuonuo’s fine, really, trust me! He just had a little bit of an alcoholic drink!”

“Wait there.” Fu Baihan hung up.

After sending the address, Ji Xinghui looked strangely peaceful. Forget it, no point fighting it. Fu Baihan was clearly telling him to wait for his death.

Looking at the boy nuzzling against him trying to grab the phone, Ji Xinghui pinched his cheek. “Brother complex plus little-brother complex. I’m totally unnecessary here.”

If this weren’t Fu Baihan’s little brother, he definitely would have made a move. But after watching him grow up for so many years, he didn’t have any of those thoughts left, just a protective, mother-hen instinct.

Looking at the other guy, the one who’d messed with their kid and now didn’t dare make a sound, Ji Xinghui sneered. You think you’re good enough to touch my little brother? A broken wrist is nothing. You need two broken legs to learn your lesson.

After crying for his brother, maybe because he’d heard Fu Baihan’s voice, the kid finally settled down and looked even sweeter. You’d never guess that just a moment ago he’d snapped someone’s wrist without blinking.

This little guy had two faces.

Still, Ji Xinghui couldn’t stay mad at him. He was only mad at himself for not looking after him properly.

Even if his little brother could protect himself, he shouldn’t have left him alone in a place like this.

At the moment, Ji Xinghui had conveniently forgotten that he was the one who wanted to show the kid the world.

When Fu Baihan arrived, the club manager was following behind him, trembling, with no idea how they’d managed to anger this big shot.

He wasn’t in the mood to deal with anyone else. Only when he saw his kid did his expression soften a little.

Before Ji Xinghui could react, the kid’s eyes lit up. “Brother!”

He watched as Su Nuo, stained with alcohol and juice, ran a few steps, threw himself at Fu Baihan, and even jumped up to cling to him.

For a split second, Ji Xinghui was really worried his neat-freak friend would toss Su Nuo aside. But very quickly, he wanted to slap himself twice.

They have such a close brotherly bond. Why are you worrying for nothing?

Fu Baihan held Su Nuo up with one arm, steady and secure. “Done crying?”

Su Nuo whined and tattled. “Someone tried to take advantage of me. He touched me!” He pointed at the terrified guy on the floor.

Fu Baihan only gave him a single glance, but the icy look cut like a knife. The guy shook even harder, too scared to even cry.

Little young master, I didn’t even manage to cop a feel and one of your brothers already beat me up. And now you’re calling in another one?!

We’re both rich kids who just like to party. Why go this far?! So what if you have big brothers?

Ji Xinghui coughed. “My fault. I didn’t watch him closely. I’ll definitely make this right for our little brother.”

The kid might be young, but he was a real guy who stood nearly six feet tall. He threw himself at Fu Baihan like that, and Fu Baihan actually caught him?

Tsk. That’s some core strength. Ji Xinghui suddenly felt a little jealous.

That kind of physique was completely wasted on Fu Baihan!

“How do you want to handle this, Nuonuo?” Fu Baihan ignored him and looked down at the boy in his arms.

“My head hurts… Brother, let’s go home.” Su Nuo nuzzled against his shoulder. Now that he’d tattled, he was perfectly satisfied. His brother would never let him be wronged anyway.

“Home it is.” Fu Baihan carried the kid toward the door and patted his back. “Be good. Can you still walk? Get down for a sec.”

Su Nuo stood beside him and said in amazement, “The floor is moving.”

“…” Never mind. Better to just carry him.

Left forgotten behind them, Ji Xinghui suddenly felt like he’d been force-fed a mouthful of couple goals.

Damn it. He’d never even been this sweet with any of his lovers.
